*To improve user experience NARA has separated some of the larger pdf files into multiple parts. This change is reflected in the revised PDF counts noted on this page.
All JFK assassination-related information within the Mexico City Station History document (RIF 104-10414-10124) is fully available to the public. The Office of White House Counsel has informed NARA that the CIA may continue withholding portions of the larger document that do not relate to the assassination of President Kennedy under FOIA exemptions such as classified information (b)(1) or information that is prohibited from disclosure by federal law (b)(3).
June 27, 2025 Update: Status of the records related to the JFK assassination transferred from FBI to NARA in 2025
In 2020, the FBI opened their Central Records Complex and began a multi-year effort to first ship and then electronically inventory and store closed case files from across FBI field offices. The resulting, more comprehensive records inventory, coupled with the technological advances in automating the FBI's record keeping processes yielded additional records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. On February 20, 2025 the FBI delivered the JFK records located as of that date to NARA, including documents, photographs, audio, and video. These records were initially available in the research room at the National Archives at College Park following transfer from the FBI. Additional FBI records were also transferred from FBI to NARA between March and June 2025. All of these FBI records have been digitized and released to the fullest extent possible (i.e., there are redactions for grand jury information as outlined in section 10 of the JFK Act). As these records were provided to NARA in 2025, they do not have Record Identification Form (RIF) numbers. The digitized records have been added to the National Archives Catalog, and are available here.
