Definition:

Indicates the name of an organization that is the subject of or highly relevant to the microform product.

Organizational entities include meetings, conferences, commissions, production groups, and Federal agencies: any entity other than an individual.

 

Purpose: Enables users to search for microform products that contain information about specific organizations.

 

Relationship: This element is independent.

 

Guidance:

Choose the name of the organization from the Organization Authority File.

This data is called an "access point." Best practice is to "anchor," or explain, all access points narrativly in the descriptive record in which the access point appears. You should anchor this access point in the Microform Publication Title or Abstract field.
