Definition:

AI / machine-generated labels attribute contributions created through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning tools by NARA or a NARA partner.

Purpose: To provide additional metadata to make content in the Catalog more discoverable and provide transparency for AI / machine generated content.

Relationship: The AI / Machine Generated Label is dependent on a contribution. The content may have an additional attribution modifier (for example, tags and transcriptions could be AI / Machine Generated and donated by a NARA Partner, who is also attributed by Partner Name).

Guidance:

Machine-generated labels are added to catalog descriptions and digital objects by NARA staff, and NARA partners. The labels will be identified as machine generated.
