Communities of Interest
The following communities of interest are for federal staff seeking to improve records management across the government.
Federal Records Management Council (FRMC)
This NARA-led group was established by the Archivist of the United States to provide input, advice, and recommendations to the Archivist, NARA, and other Federal agencies on all aspects of records management, with particular emphasis on electronic records management and emerging records and information management (RIM) challenges. The Council provides a formal, ongoing forum through which leading Federal practitioners and stakeholders share information and identify common issues and experiences regarding shared RIM challenges facing Federal agencies. FRMC attendance is invitation-only.
Microsoft 365 User Group (Requires history.gov login)
This NARA-led group meets monthly to discuss topics around the records management implications of the Microsoft 365 software platform. If you wish to join the group, please contact rmpolicy@nara.gov. You must have a .gov or .mil email address to join.
Federal Records Officer Network (FRON) (Login to APAN.org required)
This agency-led group is a network of Records Officers that address records issues that exist across federal agencies. They meet to share experiences and documents, leverage best practices, and leverage our collective efforts to address common issues. If you wish to join the group, please contact Ron Swecker at sweckerr@sec.gov.
Electronic Records Management (ERM) Working Group
This group works to identify best practices, common terminology, and resources for the acquisition of ERM services and solutions. The group is made up of both industry and government participants. If you wish to join the group, please contact recordsmanagement@gsa.gov.
