Annual Employee Survey

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management is in the process of rescinding or revising reports, tools, files and other materials posted on their website in accordance with Executive Order 14151 Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing and Executive Order 14168 Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government. Any previously issued diversity, equity, inclusion, or gender-ideology materials on this website should be considered rescinded.

Since 2007, Federal agencies have been required by law to conduct an Annual Employee Survey (AES). The survey includes a series of questions prescribed in regulation and is designed to address overall employee satisfaction and leadership and management practices that contribute to an agency's performance. Since 2010, OPM has administered the Employee Viewpoint Survey (EVS) annually. In compliance with OPM requirements, NARA utilizes the EVS as its AES. Learn more about the general requirements of the AES and EVS on the OPM website.
