Mary Mcleod Bethune's Official Personnel Folder

Official Personnel Folders were compiled by the agencies for whom an individual worked. The example shown below is from the Official Personnel Folder of Mary McLeod Bethune, compiled by the Federal Security Agency. Bethune was the first African American woman appointed by a President (Franklin D. Roosevelt) to serve as a National Advisor on Colored Affairs.
