Lieutenant Frank Luke Jr.'s Burial Case File

Below is a page from the Burial Case File of Lieutenant Frank Luke, World War I aviator. Burial files were compiled by the War Department, Office of the Quartermaster General, and contain correspondence, reports, telegrams, applications, and other papers relating to burials of service personnel. These records were compiled from January 1, 1915, to December 31, 1939.

Lieutenant Luke, known as the “Arizona Balloon Buster,” was a World War I fighter ace credited with 19 aerial victories, second only to Captain Eddie Rickenbacker.
