Official Personnel Folders were compiled by the agency for whom the individual worked. The page below is from the Official Personnel Folder of Lewis W. Hine, compiled by the Department of Agriculture, Rural Electrification Administration. Hine was a photographer who captured rural America in the era of electrification, he was also an American sociologist and muckraker photographer. His photographs were instrumental in bringing about the passage of the first child labor laws in the United States.
