MEMORANDUM TO FEDERAL AGENCY CONTACTS: Update to GRS Transmittal 29

Since the publication of GRS Transmittal 29 under AC 09.2018 on December 21, 2017, we have made three additions and one correction:

GRS 1.1 Financial Management and Reporting Records Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

We have edited the answer to question 9 to clarify NARA’s position on whether paper travel receipts can be destroyed if entered into an electronic system.

GRS 1.3 Budgeting Records

We have added one bullet, “carryover records,” to GRS 1.3, item 020, Budget execution records.

GRS 5.3 Continuity and Emergency Planning Records

We have added a clarification to GRS 5.3, item 020’s Exclusion to note that the excluded records are covered under GRS 5.5, item 020.

GRS 6.2 Federal Advisory Committee Records

We have edited GRS 6.2, item 050, Note 2, to direct users to GRS 5.1, item 020.  Previously, this Note directed users to GRS 4.3, item 040, which was deleted with the publication of GRS Transmittal 28 in July, 2017.  GRS 5.1, item 020 supersedes GRS 4.3, item 040.

New versions of these four documents, plus updated versions of GRS Transmittal 29 and the schedules-only PDF have been posted to the GRS web page.
