Memorandum to Federal Records Management Contacts: Quantum Information Science and Technology White Paper

I am pleased to announce the issuance of a new NARA white paper -- Quantum Information Science and Technology: Implications for Records Management.

This white paper is intended to provide a non-technical introduction to Quantum Information Science and Technology (QIST) for federal records managers. Emerging quantum technologies could have big impacts in these areas of records management: cryptography, authentication, encrypted communication, storage of records, and records retrieval. Records managers may find this information helpful as QIST technology evolves and matures.
