Memorandum To Senior Agency Officials For Records Management: Semi-Annual Report of Records Management Oversight Activities

Dear Senior Agency Official for Records Management,

I am notifying you that my office has recently released our latest semi-annual report on records management: Semi-Annual Report of Records Management Oversight Activities: January - June 2022. The report highlights themes, key observations, and recommendations for action we have identified that I hope will be helpful to you and your records management program.

This report summarizes NARA’s records management oversight activities completed from January 1, 2022 through June 30, 2022. It identifies trends from federal agency annual records management reports, two topical assessments, one inspection, and multiple agency-specific plans of corrective action.

Our goal is to continue to share the best practices and lessons learned we identify through our oversight work with the broader federal records management community. We look forward to sharing future semi-annual reports with you that will include additional recommendations for action by SAORMs, agency records officers, and other records management staff.
