Memorandum to Federal Agency Records Officers and Annual Reporting Contacts: 2024 Federal Agency Records Management Annual Reporting Questionnaires
The annual records management reporting period for 2024 will run from January 13, 2025 to March 14, 2025. Agencies will be required to submit the following:
- Records Management Self-Assessment (RMSA) submitted via survey tool
- Federal Electronic Records and Email Management Report (FEREM) submitted via survey tool
- Senior Agency Official for Records Management (SAORM) Annual Report submitted separately via email using the 2024 SAORM template
- Inventory of both permanent and unscheduled electronic records (other than Capstone email) over 5 terabytes submitted separately via email using the Permanent and Unscheduled Electronic Records Over 5 TB Spreadsheet
For your convenience, we have published the questionnaires and templates on our website.
Only the SAORM Annual Report and the Permanent and Unscheduled Electronic Records over 5TB spreadsheet should be returned to us at rmselfassessment@nara.gov. The RMSA and FEREM must be entered into the survey tool using two separate links that will be emailed on January 13th to Agency Records Officers and those designated to respond. These links are specific to the addressee and should not be forwarded to, or used by, another individual.
It is imperative that we have the correct point-of-contact information for your agency. If you are no longer responsible for completing the reports for your agency, please contact rmselfassessment@nara.gov by January 3, 2025.
