MEMORANDUM TO FEDERAL AGENCY ANNUAL REPORTING CONTACTS:  Annual Federal Agency Records Management Reporting Tool Now Open.
 
Today marks the beginning of the 2021 Annual Federal Agency Records Management Reporting period. The reporting period runs from January 10, 2022 to March 11, 2022.
 
As someone designated to respond to the 2021 Records Management Self-Assessment (RMSA), you should have received two separate links from NARA@qualtrics-survey.com. One link is for the 2021 RMSA; the other link is for the Federal Electronic Records and Email Management Maturity Model Report. These links cannot be forwarded to other individuals, so it is imperative that we have the correct point-of-contact information for your agency. 
 
If you did not receive these links or if you received the links and are no longer responsible for completing the RMSA for your agency, please contact rmselfassessment@nara.gov as soon as possible.  
 
Attached are Microsoft Word versions of both questionnaires for your convenience to use while gathering information and compiling the official response. Please do not return these forms to NARA as your response must be recorded in the survey tool. Also attached is a tip sheet for using the Qualtrics survey tool.

Your responses to questions in the RMSA may be subject to public release pursuant to FOIA. However, we will not release responses that contain detailed descriptions of agency activities without consulting your agency. Your responses to the Federal Electronic Records and Email Management Maturity Model Report will be publicly released on our website, so please ensure the data your agency provides is publicly releasable.  

As in previous years, we will be conducting a validation process. Your agency may be selected at random to provide additional documentation and/or take part in interviews to discuss your records management program activities.

You have until 11:59 pm ET, Friday, March 11, 2022, to complete the RMSA and the Federal Electronic Records and Email Management Maturity Model Report. We will be unable to accept submissions through the online system after this date.
