Memorandum to Federal Records Management Contacts: Announcing the Capstone Resubmission Cycle
Resubmission of form NA-1005, Verification for the Use of GRS 6.1, is required every four years.
The first resubmission cycle will open on January 31, 2023 and run through April 30, 2023.
All agencies with an approved form NA-1005 form are required to resubmit the form during this time.
Completed forms should be submitted to GRS_Team@nara.gov. However, forms should not be submitted before January 31, 2023.
The NA-1005 form has been updated to reflect upcoming changes to GRS 6.1. Currently, the GRS 6.1 authorizes the Capstone approach for email. The updated GRS 6.1 will authorize the Capstone approach for other types of electronic messages, specifically instant messages, texts, and chats.
