Calvin Coolidge
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Calvin Coolidge's accession to the presidency, the Kennedy Library held a two-day conference in late July which drew more than 500 scholars, historians, journalists, "pals of Cal" and others. Among those speakers exploring the life, career and myths surrounding the
former Massachusetts governor who became the 30th president of the United States were Democratic presidential nominee and governor of Massachusetts Michael Dukakis, syndicated columnist Robert Novak, TIME's White House correspondent Hugh Sidey, and journalist Jack Beatty.
