National Archives Participates In Maryland Day 2012

The National Archives will participate in the 14th annual “Maryland Day 2012,” the University of Maryland’s family-friendly open house, on Saturday, April 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the University of Maryland College Park campus. This year’s theme is “Explore Our World.” The annual event takes place rain or shine and is free of charge. For more information, visit: www.marylandday.umd.edu.

Visitors to the National Archives booth can discover what’s old and what’s new at the National Archives in Washington, DC:

• Learn more about the National Archives' new electrifying new exhibition, Ben Franklin: In Search of a Better World and discover his impact on the world.
   
• Have your picture taken in front of a backdrop of the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom (the Rotunda is the home for the original founding documents of the United States: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights).
   
• Add your name to a facsimile of the Declaration of Independence.
