New Lighthouse Drawings Added to NARA Online Print Shop

A selection of eighty five newly scanned lighthouse drawings from the cartographic holdings of the National Archives has been added to the Online Print Shop. Dating from 1818 to 1933, this handsome collection features artistic elevations and perspective views in pencil, ink, and watercolor of lighthouses in 27 coastal and Great Lakes States. Also included are colorful renderings of keeper’s dwellings, sections and plans, decorative details, site plans of the lighthouse stations and depots, and maps of surrounding vicinities.

Also available in the Shop are more than 1,200 historical and contemporary photographs, World War I and II posters, drawings and sketches, maps, and ship plans, all reproduced from the holdings of the National Archives.
