Andrew Dickson White (1832-1918) was a U.S. diplomat, historian, educator and co-founder of Cornell University. The papers relate to his time as the first president of Cornell University (1865– 85), U.S. Minister to Germany (1878–81) and to Russia (1892–94), and Ambassador to Germany (1897–1902). They include correspondence, diaries, and manuscripts of lectures, speeches, and articles.
