On August 8, 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower submitted to the Senate for confirmation his nomination of Dr. T. Keith Glennan as NASA’s first Administrator. This poll sheet documents an important step in the Senate process, the unanimous vote by the Senate Special Committee on Space and Astronautics, chaired by Lyndon B. Johnson, to recommend confirmation to the full Senate. Glennan was confirmed by the Senate just five days later on August 19.
