Release of the Updated and Expanded CIA Name Files - 2nd Release
The Interagency Working Group will open the full set of CIA Name Files - 2nd Release on Monday October 29, 2007 at the National Archives at College Park. Since 2005 the CIA has undertaken a global reassessment of the CIA Name Files being compiled & released to the National Archives under the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act. This release of over 100,000 pages constitutes the full set of 1119 Name files - including some 326 new name files. Most importantly, the CIA broadened reviews restored virtually all of the information previously withheld in the 1st Release and added additional pages to those files.
