Ft. Worth to Lenexa Diversion of Temporary Records
June 21, 2021
To Our Valued Customer,
The Federal Records Centers Program (FRCP) manages space as a single entity across our entire portfolio of 24 buildings clustered into 18 FRCs. In order to use this space most effectively as directed by OMB memo M-12-12, Section 3, we implement diversions from one FRC to another to efficiently maximize space.
In adherence to this operational strategy, effective October 1, 2021, we will begin diverting your agency’s permanent records originally bound for the Fort Worth FRC to the Lenexa FRC, located at 17501 W. 98th Street, Lenexa, KS 66219. Important to note that this change only affects permanent record transfers. Please continue to submit transfer requests to Fort Worth for approval. At the time of approval, FRC staff will send instructions for shipping the permanent records to Lenexa. Additionally, as Fort Worth will remain the primary FRC for any impacted transfers, user permission changes are not necessary for the Archives and Records Centers Information System (ARCIS) and there will be no procedural change when referencing your records. Temporary records destined for the Fort Worth FRC should continue to be shipped to that facility upon receiving an approval on the transfer request and upon direct coordination with staff at that facility.
FRCP staff members work diligently to provide high-quality, cost-effective records storage for our customers, and we appreciate your partnership with us as we build on our shared commitment to preserving Federal records. We would be happy to meet with you to discuss any concerns or questions you may have about the records diversion or other FRCP services.
Please feel free to contact your Account Manager.
Sincerely,
G. EVERETT
Director, Federal Records Centers Program
