Unlike most of the copies in the IJA collection, page 73/74 remains in place. 2) MOLD REMEDIATION AND SURFACE CLEANING The volume was mold remediated with a HEPA filter Nilfisk vacuum and soft brushes in a fume hood. When necessary, pages were then surface cleaned with soot sponges and with Staedtler Mars Plastic eraser crumbs. 3) PAPER REPAIR Existing mends were re-adhered where necessary with Aytex P wheat starch paste. Throughout the text block, tears were mended and losses filled using acrylic-toned long fiber paper (Hiromi MMN-1 Tengucho and HP-04 Usu Mino Thin) and Aytex P wheat starch paste (or a 50-50 mixture of wheat starch paste and methyl cellulose as a remoistenable tissue preparation). ). The semi-detached green title page and the front endpaper were hinged on with acrylic-toned long fiber tissue and Aytex P wheat starch paste. 4) REPAIRS TO THE CASE The corners of the boards were consolidated and lifting areas of the cover paper were re-adhered with Aytex P wheat starch paste.
