The Margaret Truman Memorial Reading Group
Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum
Independence, MO
Margaret Truman Daniel (1924-2008), was known as a vocalist, television personality, mother of four sons, and an author of many nonfiction books and several novels. We remember the only child of Harry and Bess Truman by reading and discussing one of her books each month. In April, the Reading Group will convene to discuss Murder at Foggy Bottom which follows a State Department investigator looking into the suspicious details surrounding a D.C.-bound commuter plane crash. The means are soon apparent -- small-scale weaponry with large-scale impact -- but the motive remains a challenge for our seasoned protagonist. Free admission. Participants only need to acquire the book. Copies are available at the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum, at branches of local libraries, and online bookstores. Offered in partnership with the National Park Service. Contact Doug Richardson at doug_richardson@nps.gov for more information.
