The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) will host a panel discussion, “Transparency and Access to NARA Records,” on Wednesday, March 19, at 1 p.m. ET. This program is being offered virtually during Sunshine Week, an annual nonpartisan nationwide collaboration among groups in the journalism, civic, government, and private sectors that celebrates access to public information. The event will be virtual and livestreamed on the National Archives YouTube Channel. The public may also attend a simulcast in the William G. McGowan Theater at the National Archives in Washington, DC.
Jill Reilly, NARA’s Acting Chief Innovation Officer, will moderate a discussion between National Archives experts who will discuss the initiatives NARA is taking to enhance transparency and access to records. Panelists are Denise Henderson, Director of Digitization; Michael Knight, Director of Web Division; and Carol Lagundo, Director of Digital Partnerships and Outreach.
This event is being offered in partnership with Sunshine Fest organized and sponsored by the University of Florida’s Brechner Freedom of Information Project. For more information visit: https://sunshineweek.org/sunshine-fest/.
