Find Your Voice: A Talk with Gary D. Schmidt
Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum
The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum will be hosting author Gary D. Schmidt for the latest in our series of programs encouraging children to read, write, and "Find Your Voice." Schmidt, a resident of Alto, MI and professor of English at Calvin University, is also a two-time Newbery Honor recipient for his books Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy and The Wednesday Wars. His latest young adult book, Jupiter Rising, was released in August 2024. In this free program, open to families and children of all ages, Schmidt will talk about his experiences as a writer, how he became interested in writing, and advice for aspiring young writers. The talk will be followed by a signing.
