The Nature of the Man: Landscapes from the Childhood of Jimmy Carter by John L. Cleaveland, Jr.
Inspired by Carter’s memoir An Hour Before Daylight
Twenty-one paintings of places that were part of the visual world of Jimmy Carter’s childhood in rural Sumter County, Georgia. This exhibition brings the viewer to places that were part of the environment that shaped Carter’s childhood and tied his roots to the land – land that became the foundation for a way of life.

Please join the Carter Library and John L. Cleaveland, Jr. in celebrating the opening of "The Nature of Man: Landscapes from the Childhood of Jimmy Carter by John L. Cleaveland, Jr.". This event is open to the public and free to attend, it will include light bites and a special walk through of the exhibit with the artist.
