MEMORANDUM TO FEDERAL AGENCY CONTACTS: Presentation from the April 11, 2007 Briefing "E-Government, E-Records, and You: A Web Briefing for CIOs".

I am pleased to notify you that the presentation from the April 11, 2007 briefing "E-Government, E-Records, and You: A Web Briefing for CIOs" is now available online. Due to technical problems with the software used to conduct the meeting, the audio portion of the briefing and the Power Point slides are not synchronized. Both are available for downloading at http://www.archives.gov/records-mgmt/meetings/#eforums.

During the briefing we asked the participants several questions about their agency's awareness of the requirements outlined in the E-Gov act of 2002 and the guidance NARA has provided. We have attached the results of the survey to this announcement. In general, it seems that agencies are aware of the requirements of the E-Gov act and more than half of the agencies that responded believe that agency IT and RM staff work together effectively.

Please also visit our website for additional information about the Electronic Records Management (ERM) Initiative, which is part of the E-Gov act of 2002. Information about the ERM Initiative may be found at http://www.archives.gov/records-mgmt/initiatives/erm-overview.html and a list of guidance products related to the ERM Initiative may be found at http://www.archives.gov/records-mgmt/initiatives/erm-products.html.

If you have any questions, please contact Laurence Brewer at laurence.brewer@nara.gov or 301-837-1539.
