MEMORANDUM TO FEDERAL AGENCY CONTACTS:  REVISED AGENDA - Agency Services Bimonthly Records and Information Discussion Group (BRIDG), Wednesday, December 10, 2014

The meeting will be held at the National Archives and Records Administration downtown building, 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW (Metrorail's Yellow or Green lines to the Archives/Navy Memorial station) in the McGowan Theater. Please enter on the Constitution Avenue side of the building, the "Special Events" entrance (which is actually the exit for the general public).

We will begin with an informal networking hour from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Jefferson Conference Room (mezzanine level). The BRIDG meeting will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the McGowan Theater (basement level). A Staff Meet and Greet for Appraisal Team 1 agency staff and a Target Audience Analysis Focus Group – conducted by NARA’s National Records Management Training program – will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Jefferson Room (mezzanine level).

The focus of the meeting is the lifting of the freeze related to the ongoing tobacco litigation and the Presidential and Federal Records Act Amendments of 2014 (HR 1233, now PL 113-187).

Meeting agenda items include the following:

Allison Stanton, Director of E-Discovery, FOIA, and Records, Office of the Assistant Attorney General Department of Justice (DOJ) - Civil Division, will make a presentation and take questions on the DOJ memorandum lifting the freeze. Ms. Stanton’s presentation will not be broadcast and will be available in the McGowan Theater only to Federal employees and their records management contractors.

David Weinberg, Director, Federal Records Centers Program, will make a presentation and take questions on the initial plan for lifting the freeze. Because his presentation is not covered by attorney/client privilege, Mr. Weinberg’s presentation will be broadcast at the link below. We expect his presentation to begin at approximately 10:30am.

Gary Stern, the General Counsel at NARA, and Paul Wester, the Chief Records Officer for the U.S. Government, will present on the recently enacted revisions to the Federal Records Act in HR 1233 (PL 113-187).

Gary Rauchfuss, Director, Records Management Training Program, will talk briefly about the target audience analysis project that will collect data to drive the redesign of the training program.
