MEMORANDUM TO FEDERAL AGENCY CONTACTS: Reminder to designate a Senior Agency Official and Recording of November 28, 2012 Senior Agency Officials Meeting
As a reminder, the Managing Government Records Directive requires agencies designate or reaffirm their Senior Agency Official (SAO) by November 15, 2012. We developed an FAQ on this topic that can be found online at http://www.archives.gov/records-mgmt/faqs/sao-appointment.html.
For those unable to attend the November 28, 2012 meeting in-person, we will video record the proceedings and make them available immediately following the meeting. SAOs and Agency Records Officers (ARO) will be able to access the recording on UStream. We will provide the live link to the UStream site and the password to SAOs and AROs via email shortly after the November 28th event.
On December 7, 2012, from 11:00am to 12:00pm EST, we will hold an on-line follow-up question and answer session.
At this session we will answer questions that arise from watching the video recording as well as additional questions that may come up at your agency after the live event on November 28th. At the December 7th event we will briefly recap the November 28th meeting, and then field questions on-line from participants. Reviewing the video prior to the follow-up meeting is highly recommended.
Senior Agency Officials and Agency Records Officers are welcome to attend both meetings if desired.
