National Archives Theater to Showcase Academy Award® Nominees in Four Categories

Washington, D.C. . .The National Archives McGowan Theater will host one of two East Coast screenings of the Academy Award® nominated films in the documentary feature, documentary short subject, short film-live action and short film-animated categories. The screenings are part of an ongoing partnership between The Foundation for the National Archives, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Charles Guggenheim Center for the Documentary Film.

The screenings for feature documentaries will take place on successive evenings beginning Wednesday, February 23 through Sunday, February 27, 2005. The short subject documentaries, short-live action films and the short-animated will be scheduled throughout the day on Saturday, February 26 and Sunday, February 27. There are up to five nominations in each category. The screenings will be free and open to the public, by reservation only.

All screenings are subject to print availability. The screening schedule will be released on January 26, 2005. Reservations will not be accepted until the schedule is released. Please check back on this website for updated screening information and for instructions on how to make reservations.

The McGowan Theater is located in the National Archives Building in Washington, DC. The public entrance is on Constitution Avenue, between 7th and 9th Streets, NW, and is fully accessible.
