The National Archives at New York City has Moved!

The National Archives at New York City has moved to the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House at One Bowling Green, NY, NY

We are temporarily closed to the public as we finish unpacking our records and prepare our spaces to be better able to assist all researchers in the near future. Our office construction and move was delayed due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy. We anticipate re-opening at our new location in February, 2013. The exact date will be posted shortly.

If you have an emergency need for access to records to prove citizenship or to receive benefits, please call 347-931-8031 and leave a message explaining your situation. An archivist will return your call by the end of the business day.

Please check our website (www.archives.gov/nyc/) or call our main number (1-866-840-1752) for up-to-date opening information.

We regret any inconvenience our move may cause our researchers.
