Northeast Region in Waltham Hosts Girl Scout Day

Staff of the Northeast Region in Boston (Waltham) hosted a Girl Scout Day Open House of the facility on Saturday, March 03, 2007. Thirty two Girl Scouts and leaders visited the facility at scheduled times throughout the day. Regional Administrator Diane LeBlanc greeted the group and presented special prizes to the Girl Scouts. Priscilla Foley, Regional Archives Director, addressed the participants, providing an age-appropriate overview of NARA's mission and the functions of regional archives as a whole, and Waltham in particular. Nathaniel Wiltzen, Archivist, provided a facility tour and overview of the archival records available for research.

The Boston Federal Executive Board recently honored 10 NARA employees with its "Support Personnel Award". Over 750 Federal employees attended the March 1st awards ceremony held at Copley Place where NARA staff was recognized for superior achievement in support of the agency's mission.
