Series Title List

Note: Hervey B. Peairs held the position of Superintendent of Indian Schools from February 1897- March 1898; Superintendent of Indian Education from 1910-1917 and 1921-1926; and General Superintendent of Indian Education (later Director of Indian Education), from 1926-1930. For the period 1921-1926, he was also Superintendent of Haskell Institute. Throughout the period, Peairs maintained his office at Haskell Institute in Lawrence, KS. These records were compiled in his role as Director of Indian Education.
