Electronic Records Archives (ERA)

ERA-Sponsored Projects

Below are links pertaining to ERA sponsored research on the technological and archival aspects of preserving electronic records.

Access to Archival Databases Project (AAD)

  • AAD is the first publicly accessible application developed under the auspices of the ERA Program's progressive deployments strategy. This strategy provides flexibility to deploy prototypes, pilots and testbeds and enables NARA to address pressing needs and issues where it seeks to learn valuable lessons from experience prior to implementation of the ERA system. With its initial launch in February 2003, AAD provides Internet access to more than 30 archival series of electronic records, which include over 350 data files totaling well over 50 million unique records.
