Southern District of Indiana, New Albany Division

These records are held in the National Archives regional facility in Chicago, Illinois.

In 1816, Indiana was admitted as the nineteenth state, and the federal District Court of Indiana was established on March 3, 1817. The District of Indiana was subdivided into Northern and Southern Districts on April 21, 1928, by 45 Stat. 437.
