Author Diane Eickhoff to discuss book at the National Archives

Kansas City, (MO)…The National Archives at Kansas City will host author Diane Eickhoff for a discussion of her book Revolutionary Heart: The Life of Clarina Nichols and the Pioneering Crusade for Women’s Rights, on Thursday, June 25, at 6:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the National Archives, 400 West Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO. A 6:00 p.m. reception will precede Eickhoff’s presentation.
Diane Eickhoff will lead you through the journey of Clarina Nichol’s incredible and sometimes challenging life. As an activist for temperance, abolition, and women’s rights, Nichol’s criss-crossed the nation speaking for these causes. Despite the personal challenges of single parenthood and financial burdens, she dedicated her life to end these wrongs. Revolutionary Heart uses Nichol’s writings and papers to present a deep understanding of this extraordinary pioneer woman, who helped move our nation forward.

The National Archives at Kansas City is one of 13 facilities nationwide where the public has access to Federal archival records. It is home to more than 50,000 cubic feet of historical records dating from the 1820s to the 1990s created or received by nearly 100 Federal agencies. Serving the Central Plains Region, the archives holds records from the states of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The National Archives at Kansas City is open Tuesday–Saturday 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. for exhibits viewing and Tuesday–Saturday from 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. for research.
