Kansas City, (MO)....The National Archives at Kansas City will host local author and former Kansas City Star editor Monroe Dodd for a discussion of the new book, Your Land, Our Land: Two centuries of American words and images from the regions of the National Archives, on Thursday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the National Archives, 400 West Pershing Road.
Join author Monroe Dodd, who will take you on an incredible journey through the photos, documents and holdings of the National Archives collections. Beginning with the election of George Washington and other remnants of the Revolutionary War, and ending with the settlement in the western United States, Dodd will present countless moments and people in history along the way. From the Civil War to civil rights, wagon trains West, and the industrial buildup of World War II to notables such as Humphrey Bogart, Patsy Cline, Clark Gable and Elvis Presley....Your Land, Our Land presents a rich collection of archival images, letters, government documents and artifacts that tell the history of the United States.

The National Archives at Kansas City is one of 13 facilities nationwide where the public has access to Federal archival records. It is home to more than 50,000 cubic feet of historical records dating from the 1820s to the 1990s created or received by nearly 100 Federal agencies. Serving the Central Plains Region, the archives holds records from the states of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The facility is located at 400 West Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO 64108. The National Archives at Kansas City is open Tuesday-Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. for exhibits viewing and Tuesday-Saturday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. for research.
